‘IN OTHER WORDS: A COMMUNITY THEATRE PERFORMANCE’.

“In Other Words” A celebration of the Plymouth Peace Movement of the 1980s, to mark the 40th anniversary of the Tamar Bridge Protest of 24 May 1983.

This play is by Jenny and Paul Shryane of Script In Hand Theatre

  • Doors 6.30pm

  • Show Starts: 7pm

  • The performance is free but donations are welcomed, please. These would contribute towards Script-in-Hand’s production costs and a cause/charity supported by each venue. Grow will be supporting Greenpeace.

24 May marks the 40th anniversary of the Tamar Bridge demonstration, involving more than four hundred women, who formed a human chain across the Tamar Bridge as a protest against the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the 1980s.

This new play tells the stories of some of those women and men of the South West who strove, against considerable personal and public odds, to “make a small difference” in saving the country from a nuclear nightmare. Script in Hand hope the play will inspire our audiences to find the time and the courage to stay engaged with some of the numerous issues that still blight our communities.
