FINDING SPACE MAKING PLACE - PHASE 1 EXHIBITION - SAT 26 NOV

How do we understand COMFORT? How do we make the spaces we live in more COMFORTABLE?

This public exhibition on Sat 26 Nov 2022 (11am-2pm) will showcase the outcomes of phase 1 of a project in collaboration with GROW, University of Plymouth and the Holy Cross Catholic Primary School exploring what COMFORT means to us and children? The research is in the context of multiple issues - notably climate change - which challenges our sense of comfort, and the relationship of the human body and the environment.

Led by lecturers from the University of Plymouth, questions are asked from the perspective of a dialogue between 4-7 year olds from Holy Cross Catholic Primary School and students from the University of Plymouth (Courses: BA year 1 Architecture, BA year 3 Early Childhood Studies and BA year 3 Education Study).

This exhibition is also part of GROW’S DIY EXPERIMENTS where we respond to the British Art Show 9 whilst its in Plymouth from 7 Oct to 23 Dec. This series includes: performances, pop-ups, interactive workshops and exhibitions.

This project is also part of a wider initiative we’re working on with the Plymouth University and Low Carbon Devon called ‘Climate (Re)Considered’ to explore how our centrally-located building at Drake Circus can be used to communicate issues of climate change in a way that are more accessible and people-centred.
